For Your Reading Pleasure 10/24/17

Last week I shared a book covering things to do for each season. In a similar vein, this week I suggest a series of ebooks by Alison May: The Autumn House; The Winter House; The Spring House; and The Summer House.

Heaven knows there's not much more any one person can dream up to say about any of the seasons, but I have purchased all of these books, and have enjoyed them for what they are.

(The books are very short with lots of white space, and the author could use a proofreader before she pushes Publish. They currently range from $1.99 to $2.99 per book.)

However, I found them just worth the cost for putting me in the mood of the season and for giving me two or three new-to-me ideas each, plus their serenity-producing photos.

Alison May has a website: Brocante Home, and other books as well. She is along the lines of Sarah Ban Breathnach and Alexandra Stoddard, two writers who've been suggesting ideas for years for making our homes welcoming and cozy. If you haven't yet had your fill of that topic, mosey on over and see what Ms. May has to offer.

Happy reading this week!
PS: I am an Amazon Associate. Thank you so much for looking at these books (and you can always check with your local library, where applicable). If you do enter Amazon via one of my links and buy anything at all, it costs you nothing extra and gives me a little credit for buying books for myself. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  1. I thought her name sounded familiar! I've gone to her blog.

    1. Hi Brenda! So pleased to have you stop by my blog! I have a couple more of Alison's ebooks, too: The Vintage Housekeeper's Circle and Scrumptious Treats for Vintage Housekeepers. They are pretty good (at least I enjoyed them) and more in depth than the season books. But if I glean a new idea or am reminded of an idea at all, I count the purchase a good one. I love your wonderful blog! Come back again! Bess
