Stealth

Stealthy bunny:

Stealthy kitty:

Stealthy handwork:

Desperate times call for desperate measures!  I've taken to sitting on the edge of my bed and sneaking in a row or two of knitting or crochet on the fly and on the sly by keeping my projects in the bottom drawer of my dresser.  On the fly because I knit a row right before leaving for work in the morning or on my lunch hour; on the sly to avoid curious kitties.  If they come around (of course!) I can shut the drawer leaving only the strand of yarn leading to the work I'm holding.  My photos are rather iffy ... I think my flash has given out completely, and color correction isn't an ideal solution.  Come to think of it, the journals in that same drawer are stealthy, too:

I make dishcloths and washcloths so I can feel like I finish something every once in awhile!  I'm finally on the last skein for the prayer shawl.  I was getting discouraged that I wasn't farther along, so I'd wind up abandoning it for long periods.  I know ... makes no sense whatsoever! Likewise, if we don't feel as if we're growing in our walk with God, it won't make sense to abandon the walk for long periods.  On the contrary:

I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness in the exuberant earth.  Stay with God!  Take heart.  Don't quit.
I'll say it again:  Stay with God.
Psalm 27:13-14   The Message

Enjoy your weekend!

Morning Sun on Dishes

Hello!

Just popping in with a few photos I took on the spur of the moment this morning.  My posts may continue to be spread out because at this point blogging needs to be recreation rather than obligation. Hope you understand, and I so appreciate all of my wonderful Followers who have been sticking with me!

The cupboard front (bottom):

I never got around to stripping the inside of the doors:

Sweetie has to check it out.  Nothing is more fascinating to kitties than territory that is normally off-limits!

(Pardon the dust!)

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7,8

Hope you are enjoying a lovely Spring weekend,
Bess

Taking a Break

Hello Dear Readers,

I decided it would behoove me to take an extended blogging break.  Work is very busy, leaving me with little energy or motivation to post.  But if I get inspired, I'll pop back in!

Take care, and as Mapp and Lucia would say:

A Bit of Pink and Green

Hello All:

I hope you are all safe and sound after such devastation this week.  It seems as if Tornado Alley has been moving east over the years.  So frightening.

Just a few photos today to share the Lefton Green Heritage Rose bone dishes that were my mother's, and the little pitcher/vase in the same pattern that was my grandmother's.  I didn't realize the pattern was the same until just recently!  Although I am very fond of blue and white, I also love pink and green together.

My mother decorated this hatbox for me.

I bought this pink ring for myself for my 40th ... nearly 20 years ago!
I've forgotten what the stone is, or if it's just glass.
The ringholder was a gift from my mother.

For we are God’s handiwork,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

That's it for this post!  Hope you've been having a great weekend!
Bess
